LOVELAND, Colo. — Dr. Joshua T. Snyder has joined the Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies as a surgeon specializing in the care of adults who have hip injuries and chronic conditions, and whose surgery can be done using tiny incisions and a specialized surgical scope.

Appointments with Dr. Snyder may be made at the OCR’s office in Loveland. Call 970-419-7050 or 1-800-722-7441. His first day of appointments at OCR is Sept. 8.

“I truly enjoy helping the individuals I serve, who used to go to Denver for this surgery,” Dr. Snyder said. His patients may have suffered an injury, such as torn cartilage in the hip, or have another type of condition that doesn’t require hip replacement surgery.

“Wе’re pleased to have Dr. Snyder’s expertise in hip arthroscopy as part of our office,” said Dr. Robert Benz, who is OCR’s board president. By performing surgery with a scope and other instruments through tiny incisions, Dr. Snyder’s patients can recover and return more quickly to work, sports, and activities, than they could with a traditional open surgery technique.

Dr. Snyder has worked as an orthopaedic surgeon in northern Colorado from 2009-2015 with a large health system medical group.

He and his family had moved here from Chicago, where he completed a fellowship training program as an orthopaedic sports medicine surgeon at the University of Chicago Hospital from 2008-09.

During his fellowship, Dr. Snyder assisted in the treatment of Chicago Blackhawks players. He also worked as team physician for athletes in all sports at the University of Chicago, for football players at a local high school, and for the Chinese women’s Olympic volleyball and diving teams.

Fellowships provide an additional, sixth year of specialized training for orthopaedic surgeons following completion of their residency program. The additional training gives physicians the opportunity to develop in-depth knowledge and expertise.

Prior to his fellowship, Dr. Snyder completed his five-year orthopaedic surgery residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL (2003-08).

He earned his medical degree from Chicago Medical School (1999-2003).

Dr. Snyder also received a master’s degree in natural resources-environmental sciences at the University of Illinois, where he had studied for his bachelor’s degree as well.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Snyder enjoys spending time with his wife Stacey and their three children. His other outside interests include hunting, fishing, and hockey.
