About Satoru Chamberlain, MD
Dr. Satoru Chamberlain is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hand surgery. He specializes in the care of people who have hand, finger, wrist, arm, elbow, or shoulder injuries and conditions.
Dr. Chamberlain holds board certification through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He has completed his fellowship (advanced) training in hand and upper extremity surgery. Dr. Chamberlain completed his fellowship in 1996 at the prestigious Pulvertaft Hand Centre in Derby, United Kingdom.
The focus of Dr. Chamberlain’s practice is hand surgery, along with surgery for injuries and disorders of the wrist, fingers, arm, elbow, and shoulder (hand and upper extremity). He takes care of many people who have work-related injuries or conditions.
He sees patients from OCR’s service area of northern Colorado, Wyoming, and Western Nebraska. He performs surgery at hospitals and surgery centers in Fort Collins and Loveland.
Dr. Chamberlain is currently working on an orthopaedic research project to assess the performance of an implant to replace damaged bone in the forearm. The implant is made of pyrocarbon, a form of carbon similar to graphite that is known for its durability. Several other physicians at OCR are also participating in this research, which has been approved by the University of Colorado Health (Poudre Valley Health System) Institutional Review Board (IRB).
Outside of medicine, Dr. Chamberlain enjoys spending time with his family and traveling back to enjoy the “Down Under” wonders of Australia!
