About George Chaus, MD

Doctor Chaus is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon who specializes primarily in orthopedic trauma and fracture care. In addition, he has vast experience in pelvic, acetabular and hip reconstruction.

Dr. Chaus joined Orthopaedic & Spine Center Of The Rockies after completing an AO Orthopaedic Trauma fellowship at Harvard University under the tutelage of master pelvic surgeon Dr. Mark S. Vrahas. As a fellow, he participated in the care of patients with the most severe and life-threatening injuries. This prestigious fellowship has provided Dr. Chaus with extensive clinical and surgical experience in pelvic and acetabular trauma/reconstruction and peri-articular fractures. He applies the newest, least invasive, and most advanced techniques to facilitate fracture healing and the best possible functional outcome. Common conditions treated include hip fractures, ankle fractures, and wrist fractures. Dr. Chaus also treats nonunions (bones that have failed to heal), malunions (bones that have healed in poor alignment), and periprosthetic fractures.

Prior to Dr. Chaus’ fellowship, he completed his residency at the University of Colorado, where he gained considerable experience in orthopedic trauma and adult reconstruction. In addition, Dr. Chaus has authored numerous published manuscripts in peer-reviewed orthopedic journals and has presented his research at both national and international meetings.

Dr. Chaus is Board-Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is active in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and AO trauma.

Meet Dr. Chaus (Orthopaedic Trauma & Fracture Specialist)

“Top-notch – triple-A – 5 out of 5 stars – I felt like I was worth a million bucks with the treatment I received from Dr. Chaus and the entire staff.”

“This is the second time I have had need for Dr. Chaus to treat me. This last time it was for a significantly broken ankle that required surgery. He has been wonderful. He is caring, professional, empathetic, knowledgeable, and very good at what he does. He listens to my concerns, and takes everything into consideration as he responds and continues treatment. There’s a reason I came back to him this second time, and I will continue to come back to Dr. Chaus in the future.”

Dr. Chaus is an Excellent Dr. He has done a previous surgery on me 2 years ago. I’m now scheduled for another surgery on my ankle May 1, 2024 after a fall and breaking my ankle again. I have complete trust and know that I’m in the best of care with Dr. Chaus”

-Joan M.

The whole experience from check-in through X-ray and time with Dr. Chaus was top notch.”
