Registration Senior Team Lead

The Registration Team Lead acts as a subject matter expert for daily issues arising with patient check-in and promotes customer service as first priority at check-in. This position also performs routine clerical duties associated with registering patients, gathering insurance information and obtaining the appropriate referrals or authorizations. They maintain up-to-date reference materials on insurance plans and assists the Registration Manager in communicating and implementing policy and/or procedural changes to the registration personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Acts as a subject matter expert for daily issues arising with patient check-in, escalating issues as needed.
  • Assists in the implementation and compliance of all established policies and procedures.
  • Conducts training for staff on registration process and software and strives for cross-training of front desk staff in all locations.
  • Works closely with manager on improving processes to ensure a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Oversees that patient check-in is conducted according to established guidelines. Monitors data input for errors and inaccuracies with staff in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum one year experience in registration and/or checkout.
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer-facing service position.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or related software, scheduling and medical records software, and similar computer applications. Ability to quickly learn multi-line phone system.

Physical Requirements

  • The work environment is the typical office environment. The employee must be able to complete their work satisfactorily in an environment where there are significant distractions, including staff, patients, and vendors walking through and conversing, telephones ringing, conversations carrying over, loud noises, and interruptions to answer questions from others.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls up to 8 hours a day. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear and must be able to speak articulately. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and should do so in a sound and safe manner. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
