About Lucas Schnell, DO
Dr. Lucas Schnell is a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon and Shoulder specialist who joined the Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies team in 2022. His practice focus is Shoulder Conditions in addition to Sports Medicine and Joint Replacement.
Dr. Schnell graduated Summa Cum Laude from Dakota State University in 2003 when he earned his Bachelor of Science. He
went on to get his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kansas City University in 2009, completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, Missouri in 2014, and received a Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship from the St. Francis Shoulder Center in Columbus, Georgia in 2015. He has been a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon and Shoulder Specialist in the north metro Denver area for the last nine years.
Besides his Board Certification and Colorado Medical License, Dr. Schnell has Colorado Division of Worker’s Compensation Level 2 Accreditation. He has presented at various local and national conferences in the field of orthopaedics and has a
handful of publications surrounding his orthopaedic specialties. He is currently a member of the American Osteopathic Association of Orthopedics, American Osteopathic Association, and Colorado Medical Society.
As a major player in the success of the communities he’s lived in over the past decade-plus, Dr. Schnell has served as the Team Physician for various local high schools and colleges. Growing up on a ranch and participating in rodeo, Dr. Schnell enjoys working as a PRCA team doctor with Justin Sports Medicine in the regional rodeo circuit. He has participated in medical mission work abroad including an International Medical Mission in the Dominican Republic in 2009.
In his free time, Dr. Schnell enjoys golfing, snowboarding, biking, hiking, and enjoying time with his wife and three daughters.
